January Features a Variety of Entertainment Options at the Marion Palace Theatre
Marion, OH – December 11, 2017 - The Marion Palace Theatre is pleased to offer theatre-goers a diverse entertainment schedule for audience members of all ages and interests this January. Shows include an ensemble of professional instrumentalists performing alongside local students, a mind-blowing 4D concert experience, and a show-stopping performance with Bluegrass music’s Vocal Group of the Year. Patrons are encouraged to order tickets early for the best seats.
Music aficionados will be captivated by the “Sounds of the Cinema” on Friday, January 12 at 7pm. Presenting Hollywood’s greatest film hits in fresh and original arrangements, the touring artist ensemble known as  Presidio Brass will perform unexpected mash-ups from “Indiana Jones,” “Star Wars,” “Jurassic Park,” “James Bond,” “Mission: Impossible,” and “The Incredibles.” Audiences will also hear classic rock hits such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Irish folk ballad “Danny Boy.” Avid promoters of music education and music appreciation, the group invites local high school age students to participate in an active learning session which also includes the opportunity for individuals to perform with band members on the Palace stage. This program is supported by Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Ohio Arts Council. Reserved Seating $18 adult, $10 student.
Entertainer Mark Nizer will wow Palace patrons on Sunday, January 21 at 3pm with a 4 dimensional show that features juggling, comedy, and unexpected technology. This unique concert experience incorporates light, sound, and color to create a multidimensional visual feast for the eyes. Entertaining for all ages, Nizer takes his show to a new level and gives audience members special glasses to see a portion of the show in mind-blowing 4D.  Ticket holders are also invited to attend a pre-show event in the May Pavilion. Reserved Seating $12-$20 adult, $8 student.
Heating up the Palace stage on Friday, January 26 at 8pm will be the Mufreesboro, Tennessee-based Bluegrass band Flatt Lonesome.  In a few short years, this group has sky-rocketed to the top of the music industry, attracted thousands of dedicated fans, and collected scores of coveted music awards including the most recent 2017 International Bluegrass Music Association Vocal Group of the Year and three 2016 IBMA trophies: Vocal Group of the Year, Album of the Year for their record “Runaway Train,” and Song of the Year for “You’re the One.” Reserved Seating $18 adult, $12 child.
In addition to the events listed above, tickets are available for a junior Palace Production of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” (Feb 9, 10, & 11, 2018), a three-man tribute to the music of Michael Bublé “Shades of Bublé” (Fri, Feb 16, 2018), Brass Transit as they perform the music of the legendary band Chicago (Sat, Mar 10, 2018), Celtic musicians Lone Raven (Fri, Mar 23), an Easter celebration with the a capella group NINE (Sun, Mar 25), a murder/mystery dinner theatre “You Have the Right to Remain Dead” (Apr 6 and 7, 2018), and “One Night in Memphis” featuring the music of Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash (Fri, May 4, 2018).
