The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Safety Council program is designed to help employers create safer workplaces, reduce accidents, and lower workers’ compensation costs through ongoing education, training, and networking opportunities. Local Safety Council meetings provide valuable insight on workplace safety, risk management, OSHA updates, mental health, leadership, wellness, and industry best practices while connecting businesses with resources and professionals across the region.
Employers who participate in the BWC Safety Council program may also qualify for a 3% rebate on their annual BWC premiums by meeting program eligibility requirements. To qualify, employers must enroll in a local safety council and attend at least 10 qualifying meetings or training sessions during the program year, which runs from July through June. Additional eligibility requirements apply through BWC, including maintaining current premium payments and timely payroll reporting.
