Happy Test-Giving
Happy Test-giving!
Test-giving is an opportunity to pick up free COVID-19 test kits for testing ahead of Thanksgiving holiday gatherings. Testing before gathering is one way to help limit the spread of respiratory illnesses this holiday season. There is a limit of 4 tests per household.
To make the event cheery and fun, we've also invited local food trucks to park in the health department parking lot for the duration of the event, with treats available for purchase. We'll be joined by Roasted. A Coffee Company LLC and Mosco’s Tacos (open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. only). You do not have to get tests or receive vaccines to support these businesses. To make food truck parking possible, we will be closing down our parking lot so that only the food trucks and clients are able to park for this event.
Wyandot County Public Health will also be offering the weekly Walk-in Wednesday Flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinic for individuals six months and older for special extended hours as part of the Test-giving event. Walk-in vaccinations are available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 20. This clinic will offer the 2024-2025 trivalent flu vaccine and the 2024-2025 Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, approved for ages six months and older; high dose flu vaccines are available for individuals aged 65 and older. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive vaccines. Those who intend to receive vaccinations must bring insurance cards. Reduced cost vaccines for those who are uninsured or underinsured may be available, check eligibility by calling ahead at 419-294-3852 and asking about the Bridge Access Program (adults) or the VFC program (children).
